Haven't posted anything new in quite some time, lots of stuff going on, iCRM, new sites, planning of new DNN modules...
So I kinda got hung up on blogging about the steps in creating the iCRM software to the point where I wasnt actually getting anything done. I decided to lay off the architecture and design blogging and actually start doing it. Since then I have a good working phase 1 of the system and the first plugin available. I also have 1 customer that is making use of iCRM with the LeadVend plugin.
Having someone actually using the system on a daily basis has given me a great deal of feedback on the system's functionality. Was able to streamline some of the LeadVend plugins matching and distribution processess. Also dealt with some of those more annoying and unexpected problems that would happen only when the planets are aligned just right...but hey, if your able to learn from those and your system ultimately becomes stronger then its not really a bad thing.
If you or anyone you know is looking for an inexpensive, fully hosted customer relationship management solution (without the confusing bells and whistle that some of the big players have), send them this direction.
Ive also been setting up a website for a local Denver, CO tattoo shop that will be opening it's doors in the next month or so. There is very little content on the site as of right now, but I at least have the look and feel all squared away (well pending the acceptance of the shop's owner). If your curious check out Old Larimer Street Tattoo
While working on the site for Old Larimer Street Tattoo, one of the required tasks is a photo gallery for the artists to post pictures of their work and organize them into albums. I looked around on the DotNetNuke Marketplace, SnowCovered, and a few other custom DNN module sites to find one. Found a few that were decent, but none were really what the client was looking for. He has been really wanting to implement something that makes use of Highslide JS, I thought about creating a photo gallery module that not only implements Highslide, but could also implement any other image view javascrits out there such as LightBox, FancyBox, and so on. The module has been scoped out and I am in the initial stage of building the initial framework (controllers, data providers, and an extendible provider that will act as a bridge between the gallery module and the javascript library of the users choice.
What else have I been up to...oh ya...been doing a lot of work with DotNetNuke at my 9 to 5er. Started playing with some of the inter-module communication framework, very fun and interesting stuff. My fiance is starting her own business, InFocus Sales, working with insurance agents by helping them set appointments with potential customers.
Almost too much going on right now, need to get off this blog and get back to work.
